I'm going to translate the description from http://ichrr.de/Tricks.html under "Der Kniff mit den Crawlern" in English soon....(not sure when I will have time for that) but just in case you can get along with that German version - by using a translator - you'll find the necessary scripts and descriptions there.

Hello,
here's a ZIP which hopefully brings you any further: After unzip click onto "index.html" in the "ImageCrawler"-folder.
The dfm-file is also contained and can be used to check out how it's being done - I hope.
